This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We require two Engineering Apprentices to join our Engineering team, based at London Stansted Airport, Essex whilst receiving fully funded qualifications and training supplied by our provider at the Marshall Skills Academy, Cambridge.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Attend and engage with training, including exams and 1-2-1 meetings with your tutors/assessors
  • Manage time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship
  • Reflect on your own practice and experiences and take any feedback onboard
  • Being trained in performing scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, defect rectification and servicing on the Titan Airways fleet
  • Being trained in carrying out repairs and modifications to airframe structures, systems, and interiors
  • Being trained in the operation of ground equipment and assisting in aircraft movements, marshalling and towing

The Apprenticeship

Your apprenticeship will be delivered by our partner training provider, Marshall Skills Academy. As an Apprentice Engineer you will be following the Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard (Fixed and Rotary Wing) and more information on this standard can be found on the institute for apprenticeships website. You will gain the following qualifications during the 3 year programme:

•   Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace & Aviation Engineering

•   Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance (technical knowledge qualification)

•   Level 3 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (competence qualification)

You will work towards developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required through a range of workshop training, classroom sessions and on the job learning. Not only will you develop your technical skills you will also have the opportunity to develop the behaviours needed to set the foundation for your future career. You will be supported every step of the way by instructors, mentors, line managers and fellow apprentices.

Entry requirements

  • You must have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C/4-9 (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English and a Science (predicted grades should be stated in application)
  • You must not have already completed the level 2 and 3 qualifications listed above in the apprenticeship section
  • In order to receive apprenticeship funding you must have the right to work in the UK and meet residency eligibility requirements
  • You must successfully pass all required medical and security checks if you are offered a place on the apprenticeship programme
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID (unless medically exempt)
  • Ability to attend studies at Cambridge and workplace duties (day release and college holidays) at London Stansted
