This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We require a Senior Safety Officer/Safety Officer to join our team based at London Stansted.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Facilitating Risk Assessments within Titan and monitoring the implementation of Risk Mitigations / Actions and subsequent appraisal to the Directors.
  • Administration of a Risk Management Programme including:
  • Provision of safety data (KPIs / SPI) to key forums SAGS & SCRB.
  • Analyse operational data (e.g. FDM / Occurrence Reports / Reliability) to identify emerging trends and potential threats to business.
  • Overseeing hazard identification systems
  • Ongoing development and maintenance of Centrik Safety Database.
  • Facilitation and oversight of important Safety Processes such as SAG and SCRB report agenda including liaison with CAA.
  • Maintain Safety Management documentation.
  • In association with the Head of Safety & Compliance, undertake Company investigations.
  • Planning and organising staff and contractor SMS training and ensuring that it meets acceptable standards including Human Factors / SMS presentation and Fatigue Management.
  • Providing independent advice on safety matters and briefings to the Accountable Manager.
  • Prepare and distribute reports to support the monitoring and analysis of trends in hazards, incidents and accidents.
  • Contribute to the Safety and Compliance team in its support of operational departments in processing Safety Reports, production of Board Reports, safety promotion.
  • Deliver initial staff induction training and prepare recurrent Human Factors and SMS courses
  • Attend safety meetings and symposiums.
  • Undertake Safety Department on call duties on a rota basis responding to safety inquiries and out of hour incidents.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Authorities.

The following requirements are desired for this role:

  • The ability to liaise at all levels within the business with excellent interpersonal skills and empathetic qualities
  • Articulate and accurate communication skills (including report writing to ICAO Annex 13 level) problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge in investigative, interviewing skills including Human Factors modelling (e.g., HFACs, Fault Tree Analysis, 5 Whys)
  • Understanding of safety and risk management principles such as Bow-Tie and ALARP
  • Understanding of safety management databases, such as AQD, QPulse, Centrik
  • Ideally three (3) years’ experience in the aviation industry, preferably in one of the following functional areas: Flight Operations, Maintenance, Ground Operations or an equivalent level of comparable experience or education
  • Fluency in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and Bowtie xp
  • Hold a full, current driving licence
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • Be able to provide information to enable five year referencing for an airside ID
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drugs and alcohol test
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID (unless medically exempt)

 

This is an office-based role working Monday to Friday 09-1730 although some flexibility is expected to the nature of the role and our operation.
