This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

The FDM analyst is responsible for the implementation, control and supervision of the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM). This role involves analysing and interpreting flight data, working closely with FDM Pilot Analysts and colleagues from across the organisation to enhance safety within the organisation by harnessing the value of flight data.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Implement and control of a compliant FDM Programme to meet and exceed regulatory requirements
  • Act as the administrator of the FDM system and software, ensuring the security and confidentiality all FDM data
  • Validate and analyse FDM events and perform statistical data integrity checks.
  • Oversee all operational FDM events to ensure they are analysed and investigated in accordance with internal procedure and process
  • Coordinate with FDM Pilot Analysts to ensure necessary crew contacts are made in accordance with agreed timescales and conducting crew contacts when required
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents and hazardous occurrences.
  • Leading and coordinating preparation for the data FDM Group Meetings
  • Researching and undertaking statistical analysis of data to identify operational hazards, potentially hazardous conditions and adverse trends that need to be reported to the Safety Action Groups and / or Safety Review Board
  • Work with fellow team members to ensure the coordination of the occurrence reporting system for FDM related events
  • Acting as the primary liaison with IT and Engineering to ensure the FDM system is performing correctly, and any system issues are promptly resolved
  • Support the organisation’s drive to improve sustainability by working with Flight Operations on the development and ongoing reporting of fuel optimisation related events
  • Monitor and report on FDM related Safety Performance Indicators
  • Develop and deliver of training to company personnel on the SMS and FDM system
  • Develop, maintain documentation, manuals and records related to FDM
  • Provide advice and support to other internal departments to help them fulfil their safety responsibilities
  • Contribute to safety publications and promotional material
  • Represent the company on FDM and safety matters at external meetings & conferences
  • Promote the safety management system throughout the company
  • Develop and continuously improving the FDM System
  • Any other tasks as directed by Line Management

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Safety or Data Science or related field

Experience

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in an airline or air transport environment with at least three years in a Flight Data Monitoring role
  • Experience with FDM software such as Aerobytes or Flight Data Connect

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of flight operations and safety management system principles
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK and EASA regulatory requirements for Flight Data Monitoring

  • Highly proficient in data analysis tools
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret flight data trends
  • Ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner
  • Strong communication skills and can build effective working relationships easily
  • Integrate well within a team environment and work well independently
  • You demonstrate a structured approach to managing your workload, work well under pressure and have high attention to detail
  • You are enthusiastic about contributing to the safety culture of our airline.

The position is permanent, full time and the hours of work will be Monday-Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm however a degree of flexibility will be expected due to the nature of the job.

This role is based in our Head Office at London Stansted.
