This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are looking for a Head of Compliance Monitoring (HOCM) to join the Safety team based at London Stansted. Reporting to the Director of Safety and Compliance, this role has the following responsibilities:

  • The performance of the compliance monitoring function
  • Ensuring communication and coordination with operational managers in the management of operational risk identified through the Compliance Monitoring System (CMS)
  • Dissemination of information to management and non-management personnel as appropriate to ensure an organisational awareness of relevant compliance monitoring issues and results
  • Ensuring that the compliance monitoring programme is properly implemented, maintained and continually reviewed and improved for the UK Company AOC, CAMO and Part 145 organisations 

The HOCM has the following authorities:

  • Direct access to the Accountable Manager
  • Access to all parts of the Company, and as necessary, any contracted or sub-contracted organisation
  • Membership of the Safety Review Board (SRB)

The role of the HOCM is to ensure that:

  • The activities of the Company are monitored for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and any additional requirements as established by the Company, and that these activities are carried out properly under the supervision of the relevant head of functional area
  • Any contracted maintenance is monitored for compliance with the contract or work order
  • An audit plan is properly implemented, maintained, continually reviewed and improved
  • Corrections and corrective actions are requested as necessary

 

Requirements:

  • Must meet the qualification and experience requirements detailed in UK Regulation (EU)1321/2014 for Compliance Monitoring Manager for CAMO and Part 145 to be acceptable to the UK CAA. This includes: 
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of UK CAA and EASA regulation; 
  • A minimum of five years of relevant management experience in an airline or MRO environment in a compliance monitoring role;  
  • A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education (that is acceptable to the CAA) or 5 years of experience in addition to the 5 years stated above. These 5 years should cover an appropriate combination of experience in tasks related to aircraft maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness management and/or surveillance of such tasks. 
  • Have previous auditing experience and hold the necessary qualifications to undertake audits for the CAMO and Part145 organisation;   
  • Previous Air Ops experience advantageous; 
  • Proficiency in compliance monitoring software and tools, Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications; 
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, develop and motivate our diverse team; 
  • Solution orientated problem solving skills; 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Highly detail orientated with the ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and business needs; and
  • Demonstrates a high level of personal and professional integrity. 

 

This is an office based role working Monday to Friday 0900 -1730 although some flexibility is expected due to the nature of the role.

Workplace visa sponsorship may be available for this position.

This role requires access to operationally sensitive information and occasional airside access. Applicants will be required to successfully undergo background checking to BPSS level (including identity checks, right to work, criminal records check and 5-year employment history).
